家族
中国人は家族や血縁関係を非常に重視する。両親が生きている間は、息子は遠くへ行ってはいけない。もし遠くへ行くなら、行き先を両親に知らせるべきだ」という中国の古いことわざがある。しかし現在では、故郷や親元を離れ、より良い仕事の機会を求めて他の土地に移り住む中国人が増えている。とはいえ、大切な休日には家族で過ごすという伝統のために、彼らは必ず故郷に戻り、両親を訪ねる努力をする。その結果、中国の交通 の交通網は、春節と国慶節（10月1日）の連休の前後はいつも最も混雑する。
中国の名前
中国語の苗字は、姓の後に続きます。中国の姓には、一字（一音節）の姓と二字（二音節）の姓があります。現在、よく使われる一字姓は数百種類あり、その中でも李、王、張、劉、陳が最も広く使われている。また、よく使われる二字姓は数十種類あり、その中でも諸葛、欧陽、司馬、端武、公孫が最もよく使われている。Keatsはあなたのために、最もよく使われる漢字についてのブログを提供している。
ほとんどの中国人は父親の姓を受け継ぎ、母親の姓を受け継ぐ人はごく少数である。姓は血縁関係の象徴です。名字はしばしば特定の意味を込めて付けられ、通常は両親の良い願いを表現します。例えば、”富”（fù）と “财”（cái）は財を成す、”贵”（guì）と “禄”（lù）は成功する、”福”（fú）は喜びと幸福を表す； 「康」（kāng）、「健」（jiàn）、「强」（qiáng）は健康と強さ、「徳」（dé）、「贤」（xián）、「淑」（shū）は徳と名誉、「栋」（dòng）、「杰」（jié）、「财」（cái）は有能な人。また、名前の正確な意味は世代によって異なることもある。中国名を名乗りたいなら、基本的な漢字の勉強は欠かせない。
家族構成と規模
中国は農業社会として数千年の歴史がある。その長い歴史の中で、中国の家族構成や家族規模はあまり変わっていない。古代中国では、「一つ屋根の下に4世代（または5世代）」というのが中国人にとって常に理想的な家族生活の概念であり、それは繁栄する大家族の理想を象徴するものであった。1949年の中華人民共和国建国以来、特に1970年代後半に家族計画政策が実施されて以来、中国の家族の規模は一般的に縮小してきた。現在、二人世帯と三人世帯が家族総数の約60％を占めており、そのうち夫婦のみの世帯は依然として増加している。特に、単身世帯の割合がここ10年で急増していることは注目に値する。統計によると、1990年には6.34％しかなかった単身世帯が、2018年には16.69％を占めている。年以前は、1世帯あたりの平均家族数は5.3人前後で長期間推移していた。1990年には3.26人、2000年には3.44人、2010年には3.10人に減少している。農村部であれ都市部であれ、成人した子供は結婚後、引っ越して一人暮らしを選ぶ。独身であっても、就学や仕事などの理由で親と同居する時間は短くなっている。中国人と友達になりたければ、彼らの家族と親しくなればいい。
女性と家族
中国女性が家庭の外で仕事を求めるようになったのは中華人民共和国が建国されてからで、今では女性が働きに出ることが当たり前になっている。その結果、中国女性の社会経済的地位は大きく向上した。中国の法律では、夫と妻は家庭内で同等の権利と義務を共有し、家事も夫婦で分担するのが一般的である。しかし、歴史的に男性優位の中国社会の影響下、特に「男性稼ぎ手、女性主婦」という考え方のせいで、家事や幼い子どもの世話は、いまだに女性のほうがかなり多くの責任を負っている。家事の分担という点では、料理、洗濯、子供の世話、家の掃除などは女性の方が多いのが一般的だ。中国女性は家族のためにおいしい中華料理を作ることができる。
体力が必要な仕事は男性の方が多い。中国で中国語を学べば、中国におけるいくつかの性的差別について詳しく知ることができます。
家族計画と普遍的な二人っ子政策
育児の質という点では、一人っ子は一般的に家族からより多くの関心とケアを享受し、より良い物質的生活水準を持ち、より多くの教育機会を得ることができた。しかし、他の子どもたちとの交わりや、協調性を育む家庭環境には欠けていた。さらに、高齢化社会が加速するなどの社会問題も引き起こした。
2013年12月28日、政府は、夫か妻のどちらかが一人っ子の夫婦でも2人の子供を持てるようにする政策を打ち出した。さらに人口戦略を改善するため、中国は2016年1月1日、すべての夫婦に2人の子どもを産ませる「普遍的二人っ子政策」を打ち出し、30年以上にわたって行われてきた家族計画政策に正式に終止符を打った。
結婚 離婚 同棲
現在の中国の結婚適齢期は、男性が22歳、女性が20歳である。しかし実際には、ほとんどの中国人、特に都市部の住民は、ますます高齢で結婚している。中国の主要10都市を調査したところ、2015年の中国人の平均結婚年齢は26歳だった。
中国の離婚率は以前は非常に低かったが、ここ20～30年で急速に変化しており、特に一部の大都市ではその傾向が顕著だ。統計によると、2016年に北京で離婚届を出したカップルは10万5800組で、同じ年の上海では8万2600組だった。
同棲や婚前交渉も徐々に増えている。2018年に実施された北京師範大学の学生・卒業生の性行動に関する調査によると、”大学時代の性行動を受け入れるか？”という質問に対して、81.04％の調査対象者が “受け入れる “を選んだ。そして、2016年と2017年の同調査のその数値はそれぞれ74.31％、79.00％であり、年々上昇傾向にあることがわかる。”性行為をしたことがありますか？”という質問に対しては という質問に対しては、46.84％の回答者が「ある」と答えている。このことから、最近の若者は婚前交渉に対してよりオープンな姿勢を持っていることがうかがえる。
古代中国の婚姻制度
古代中国では、夫婦は役所に婚姻届を出す必要はなかった。両親の許可を得て、三礼（天地に一礼、両親に一礼、お互いに一礼）する伝統的な結婚式を挙げれば夫婦となる。

I can’t tell you how much I liked it. The thing I liked about the teachers and the teaching method is that there is so much flexibility. The other thing I liked about the teaching is the combination of classic textbook learning and going outside. I loved it! I like getting to know other students. Everybody shared the same goal and that’s making their Chinese better. Kunming is a big city, but it is very safe to live here. I think the Chinese learning environment here is great. The teaching methods are also very interactive and fun. What I particularly enjoy here is the fact that my teacher does not stick to the textbook. We spend a lot of time discussing general topics, such as Chinese culture, world news, typical expressions used by local people. We also discuss social and economic topics.
It doesn’t matter what level of Chinese you have, or even you can start from the zero level. Your teacher will prepare the lessons according to your requirements. The advantage of living in the school is that you will have your tutoring, you will have your private accommodation with your own bathroom and all the meals provided. I highly recommend everybody to actually take the whole package because you get to meet other students.
At Keats, I have a lot of opportunities to practice what I have learned. I really like this school, because I can learn Chinese in one-on-one style, so I think this is the best immersion program in China and my teacher is the best teacher. I feel that without my teacher, my Chinese will definitely not improve so much. I’m very happy because, at Keats, I have improved my Chinese significantly.
I am a graduate student working on my doctorate degree at Columbia University. We were able to really focus on speaking especially interview-style speaking and we are able to really up my Chinese reading and writing skills, so when I go back to Columbia, I can take formal Chinese classes.
